(The following sites will help you whether you are defending your faith or trying to expand your own. If there is ever a deep theological/philosophical or historical question, its good to start from them)
Note: If you are using the Catholic Encyclopedia, the chances are that each entry would contain some unfamiliar theological terms. But these terms are hyperlinked to their respective articles so you can always explore them and come back. Therefore it will take some time and effort but you will learn everything about an issue in a more complete way.
On the other hand, the site Catholic.com contains short summarized articles from the Rock (which at times are actually sufficient to deal with a burning question) and would be ideal for a quick understanding. There is also the forums which have people who are very willing to answer your questions or would direct you to threads which might already exist with answers.
So keep these in mind when you are trying to research an issue and have limited time.
